Did you know Manitoba has an incredible history of community foundations?
It all began in 1921, when William Forbes Alloway established The Winnipeg Foundation with a gift of $100,000 and a vision: create something built by everyday people that would support their community forever.
More than a century later, that idea has spread across our province. Today, Manitoba is home to 57 community foundations, each helping local generosity create a lasting impact in the communities they serve.
The Onanole Foundation is proud to be part of that tradition.
Our Foundation's assets are managed by The Winnipeg Foundation, helping our endowment grow over time and allowing us to continue supporting projects that make Onanole and the surrounding area such a special place to live, work and visit.
As we lead up to Giving Week, November 9–16, we'll be sharing more about our Foundation, the impact your donations have made locally, and how a gift today can continue giving back to our community for generations.

ART Auction was a success!
On behalf of the Onanole Foundation & the ODRC, Ilse & I would like to send out a great BIG thank YOU to everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored, attended (sold out to an amazing crowd) & supported the ART AUCTION on Thursday night. It was a fabulous, exciting, fun & successful evening, raising money above and beyond our expectations.

Comedy Nights
Thanks to Onanole Foundation and Onanole & District Recreation Centre for putting on our show October 16, 2025! What a great crowd!
Great people, great food, and for a great cause. Thanks to Matt Falk, the comedian, for a hilarious evening.
We raised over $10,000 for the Onanole Foundation and local charities. We also presented a cheque to the Onanole & District Recreation Centre for $10,000 from the Thomas Sill Foundation to be used towards putting on more Community Events for all ages such as Trivia Nights, Jets Game/Grey Cup Viewing Parties, Art Nights, Movie Days, Jam nights, etc.
What is an event or program that you'd like to see in Onanole?
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, we hosted the IG Comedy Night in Onanole in support of the Onanole Foundation!
Over $20,000 was raised for local charity, and many laughs were shared. The newest member of our team, Hadley, also made a special appearance!
Thank you all for coming out and supporting the community. A special thanks to Sporty's RV Park & Restaurant Clear Lake for the great food, Clear Lake Marina & The Martese for the open bar/drinks, and the Onanole Foundation board members their help in putting this great event on.
We appreciate all of the positive feedback as we look to potentially make this an annual event in Onanole!
